How to find products from TikTok videos (without the 40-tab spiral)
You know the moment: a creator holds up a lip liner for two seconds, says a name you half-catch, and the video moves on. The comments are all “link?? 🙏” and the creator never answers. You screenshot it, promise yourself you'll find it later, and later never comes.
The manual playbook
If you're doing it by hand, this is the order that works:
- Turn on captions and rewatch. Creators usually say the product name out loud even when nothing is tagged. The auto-captions catch names your ear misses.
- Read the on-screen text, not just the caption. Product names live in overlay text far more often than in captions.
- Mine the comments. Somebody always asks, and once in a while somebody answers. Sort by newest — answers come late.
- Check the creator's link-in-bio. Storefronts (LTK, Amazon storefronts, Shopify shops) often carry the exact item from the video.
- Search the words you heard plus the shade. The shade or variant name is the key that separates the right product from its lookalikes.
