Why every link in Stealsy is checked before you see it

July 31, 2026 · 2 min read

Most “shop the video” tools have the same failure mode: they guess. A confident guess with a broken link, a lookalike photo, or the wrong brand entirely. We built Stealsy on the opposite rule — if it can't be verified, it doesn't ship.

Links are visited, not assumed

Before a shop link reaches your screen, Stealsy's servers open it and check two things: the page is alive, and the page is actually about that product. A live page about a different product is dropped. A dead page is dropped. A page we couldn't reach is marked unverified — honestly — instead of dressed up as certain.

Brands need evidence

AI models love naming brands, and they're confidently wrong just often enough to be dangerous. Stealsy holds every brand claim against the post's own words — what was said out loud, what was on screen, what the caption wrote — or against a verified link on that brand's own site. No evidence, no brand: the product ships honestly generic instead of confidently mislabeled.

Photos have provenance

A product photo in Stealsy comes from a proven source: the verified shop page's own data, the creator's own footage, and nothing scraped from a lookalike search. When there's a shade or variant involved, the photo has to prove the variant too — a sibling shade doesn't pass.

None of this is visible in the app, and that's the point. What you see is a product, a price, a link that works, and a photo that matches. What you don't see is everything that got rejected on the way there.
